Ability to set custom permalinks
-
Hey there,
Great plugin! Can you let me know if there are plans for this to be able to be used in conjunction Custom Post Type Permalinks plugin?
For example in my case, I have a CPT called “News” and a custom taxonomy called “Genre”. The default permalinks are /news/post-url, however I am trying to have them show as /%genre%/news/post-url by using the the two plugins together.
This plugin works fine with the default permalinks, but only returns 404 errors with the way I am trying to use it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks.
No, sorry, that will be never part of this plugin for 2 reasons:
1. This plugins name is “REMOVE CPT base”, so it makes no sense to make it to do anything else than removing
2. custom URL structure is very complicated, there is no way how to write general code that will work for everyone
You need to write your own code to make it works exactly for your needs…
There are also many plugins that allow you to modify complete URL, like https://wordpress.org/plugins/permalinks-customizer/ or simply create your own rewrite rules, but it’s not so easy :/
Sorry, I misunderstood your previous post… now I had similar request and I see this Custom Post Type Permalinks plugin. So yes, it’s possible… little bit tricky but possible.
Can you test this version, or it’s not relevant for you anymore?
Download: https://files.kubiq.sk/remove-cpt-base-v2.zip
Unzip it and replace /wp-content/plugins/remove-cpt-base/remove-cpt-base.php
Hey there,
No worries at all. Yes I could still use this, I am currently using a crappy hack to get it to work. I’ll test the download here over the next few weeks as I work on a dev version of the site.
Thank you for following up, especially after all this time, much appreciated!
Just download new 5.3 version, it’s already integrated 😉
